Udaipur

Udaipur, often called as the “City of Lakes”, is a historic and culturally rich city located in the southern park of the India in state of Rajasthan, surrounded by the Aravalli Hills. City Palace

The City Palace is one of the most magnificent and royal complex of Udaipur, symbolize the rich heritage of Mewar Dynasty. The Palace is situated on the eastern banks of Lake Pichola, offering a scenic beauty, architecture and blend history of Udaipur. The City Palace considered as the largest palace of Udaipur with a series of palaces, courtyards, pavilions, terraces, corridors and gardens.

A significant portion of the City Palace has been converted into the City Palace Museum, impression collection of royal artifacts like ancient weapons, armor, royal clothes, manuscipts, silverware and portraits of Maharanas.

Bagore Ki Haveli

Bagore Ki Haveli is a Historic Mansion, located on the bank of Lake Pichola. It is one of the finest example of traditional Rajasthani architecture and stand as an important cultural landmark of the city.

Bagore Ki Haveli is famous for its “Dharohar Folk Dance Show“, which held every evening in the courtyard of the Haveli. It shows the Rajasthani traditional dance like Ghoomar, Bhavai, Kalbeliya and Terah Taali, along with folk music. Bagore Ki Haveli consists of 100 rooms, courtyards, balconies, terraces and corridors. It show the Rajput Architecture, featuring the intricately carved wooden doors, delicate lattice (Jharokha) windows, arched gateways and beautiful painted walls. The balconies of the Haveli offers stunning view of Lake Pichola, City Palace and surrounded ghats.

Jagdish Temple

Jagdish Temple of Udaipur is dedicate to Lord Vishnu, worshipped here in the form of Lord Jagannath. Temple is one of the most prominent and religious landmarks of Udaipur, reflects the deep spiritual and artistic heritage of the Mewar Kingdom.

Jagdish Temple is famous for its stunning Indo-Aryan Architecture, Intricate carvings of celestial beings and elephants, 79 foot spire dominating skyline tower and central black stone of Lord Vishnu. Jagdish Temple plays a vital role during the festivals such as Janmashtami, Diwali, Rath Yatra and Ram Navami, when the temple is beautifully decorated and attract large number of devotees and the visitors.

Ghantaghar

Ghantagar, popular known as the Clock Tower, situated in the heart of the old city near the Bada Bazaar. Ghantaghar is not only a Clock Tower, it is the symbol of Rich Cultural heritage of Udaipur.

The Clock was installed to help the people to keep track of time in an era, when the personal watches were rare. Over the years, it became a central point of commercial and social activities. Even today, the tower continues to work and remains an essential reference point for both locals and visitors.

The area of Ghantaghar is one of the busiest and colorful parts of Udaipur City, Bada Bazaar and the surrounding markets are famous for traditional Rajasthani items such as miniature paintings, silver jewelry, colorful textiles bandhani fabrics, mojris and handicrafts. Ghantaghar is an important stop for visitors, because it is close to City Palace, Jagdish Temple and Lake Pichola, provides easy access to the cultural core of the city.

Pichola Lake

Pichola Lake is famous for its serene water, historic palaces and scenic surroundings. The Lake plays a central role in defining Udaipur, as the “City of Lake”. It reflects the city royal heritage, architecture brilliance and nature beauty. The Lake covers an area of 7 square km and has an average depth of around 9 meters, The area of Pichola Lake is surrounded by the ghats, temples, palaces and Aravalli hills.

Pichola Lake offers breathtaking view, especially during sunrise and sunset. The calm waters mirror the surrounding architecture, which creating a beautiful atmosphere that attracts visitors from all over the world.

Jag Mandir

Jag Mandir, known as the “Lake Garden Palace“, located on the Island in the serene water of Lake Pichola. It is one of the most beautiful and historically significant monuments of Udaipur and stands as a symbol of the royal grandeur of the Mewar Dynasty.

The Island on which Jag Mandir stands is originally called Jagat Mandir. Over time, the palace complex evolved into a royal retreat used for leisure, celebration and diplomatic purposes.

Today, Jag Mandir is a major tourist attraction and can be accessed by boat form the City Palace area. It offers panoramic views of Lake Pichola, the City Palace and the surrounded Aravalli hills. Jag Mandir represents the elegance, history and cultural richness of Udaipur. It stands as lasting symbol of Mewar’s Royal Heritage.

Fateh Sagar Lake

Fateh Sagar Lake is an artificial freshwater lake, located on the north of Lake Pichola. It is known for its tranquil beauty and scenic surrounding. The lake plays an important role in the city history and water management.

The main purpose of the Fateh Sagar Lake was to store rainwater and supply drinking water to Udaipur, especially during the dry seasons. Even today, it is an important source of water.

Fateh Sagar Lake covers an area of about 1 square km, with hills on the western side. The lake is divided into three small parts, with each having its own important.

The First and Largest Island, “Nehru Garden” a beautiful public park with lush greenery and fountains.
The Second Island, “Udaipur Solar Observatory” solar observing sites in Udaipur.
The Third Island is smaller and less known, but add to the natural charm of the lake.

Shri Manshapurna Karni Mata Temple

Shri Manshapurna Karni Mata Temple is dedicate to Goddess Karni, form of Durga. The temple is one of the important spiritual and popular tourist destination, that reflects the strong faith of devotion. Karni Mata is widely worshipped in Rajasthan, especially by the Charan Communtiy, it is known for her blessings and miracles. Devotees visit the shrine to seek prosperity, protection, good health and success.

Shri Manshapurna Karni Mata Temple is famous because it is located on the hilltop, from were the temple offers the breathtaking view of Udaipur City, Lake Pichola, Doodh Talai, City Palace and the Aravalli Hills.

The Temple can be reached either by trekking the hills or by using the “Karni Mata Ropeway“, one of the most popular ropeway in Rajasthan. The ropeway connects Doodh Talai to the temple bad provides a thrilling ride with spectacular view of the lakes and palace of Udaipur.

Vintage and Classic Car Museum

The Museum reflects the royal lifestyle and rich heritage of the former Mewar kingdom, it is located near the Gulab Bagh and the Garden Hotel. The Museum is a house of impressive collection of Vintage and classic automobiles that ones belonged to the Maharanas of Mewar. Museum was establish in 2000, managed by the HRH Group of Hotels, which oversees several heritage properties of the Mewar royal family.

The Museum has collection of around 30 well preserved cars, from 20th century to 1950s. The collection include Rolls-Royce Phantom, Cadillac, Buick, Ford Model A, Chevrolet, Vauxhall and Mercedes Benz cars. Each cars shows the elegant design, craftsmanship and advance engineering of that time. Apart from cars, the museum also exhibits vintage horse-drawn carriages, old photographs and memorabilia of the royal transportation and lifestyle.
