Coorg also known as the “Coffee capital of India” because it is the largest coffee growing region in India, at about 30% to 35% of India total output. The region mainly cultivated cultivates two popular varieties, Arabica and Robusta. Both of the are export globally and this large scale production made Coorg a central hub of India coffee Industry.

The Culture of the Coorg is unique and different from rest of Karnataka. Local people are known as the Kodavas, which having there own martial tradition, hospitality, attire and customs. 

Festivals such as Puthari (harvest festival) and Kailpodh (celebrating weapons) and this show their deep connection with nature, agriculture and warrior heritage.
